Product Description: This Melt-blown Four Layers Filtration Polypropylene Sediment Filter (6 pack) removes physical debris and impurities from your water. The sediment filter has tiny holes through which water can pass, while the unwanted particles are trapped. Sediment filters come in different sizes measured in microns, with smaller micron ratings capturing smaller particles. For visibly polluted water with larger particles, a larger sediment filter (such as 20 or 50 microns) is recommended to prevent clogging of subsequent filters.

This sediment filter is often the first stage in a Reverse Osmosis system, acting as a net to catch unwanted particles like sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine matter. Made of fine melted polypropylene, the filter is resistant to chemical solvents, bases, and acids. Removing these particles allows downstream filters like Carbon Block or GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) to perform better and last longer.

These particles and pollutants can originate from water sources, old/dirty pipes, and water treatment contaminants.
