To forget about dull colors after washing or using a lot of soap in the shower, install the 2.5" x 10" GAC filter whole house to the main water line. Place the cartridge in the housing with the end having the rubber washer facing up. Water will flow from the lower part to the upper part of the Aquaboon 10 inch GAC filter. After startup, let the cartridge be rinsed from carbon fines by passing 2-3 gallons of water.

The product should be replaced once or twice a year (5000 gallons @ 1 PPM Chlorine). Compared to carbon block type, the premium 2.5" x 10" GAC water filter will not give you signs (water pressure drop) that it needs to be replaced. It will continue to allow water to pass through without restrictions, even as its filtration ability starts declining. Therefore, be careful and follow the given instructions. Carbon can become a breeding ground for bacteria if not changed in time.
